When designing a beam, why is ETABS giving me a higher reinforcement in top steel rather than the bottom one?

If the beams are continuos (multi-spanned), there is a great possibility that the negative bending moments have greater magnitudes than the positive, especially when spans are not that large.
Subsequently, the upper/top reinforcement will be greater than the lower.
